The built environment is responsible for 75% of annual global emissions and the construction and operation of buildings accounts for 39% of global energy consumption. A group of concerned architects founded the 2030 Challenge in 2006 with the goal to reduce energy and emissions in buildings to achieve net zero carbon buildings in the US by 2030.
Come join AEE NV as we learn about and discuss the current progress of the 2030 Challenge. The presentation will include an overview of the steps that building designers and operators can take to meet the 2030 Challenge. Case studies of deep energy retrofits and sustainable systems inventory projects will be discussed for their relevance in applying these principles in the southern Nevada climate.
